Oddspaces at Nuit Blanche, 2010

Oddspaces at Nuit Blanche, 2010 was a creative concept by Faisal Anwar and Randy Horton which attempted to engage large scale, public participation by connecting 3 remote locations: Karachi, Toronto and New York for 12 hours.

Audience from each locations used virtual interactions to create a real-time collaborative installation. The Installation consisted of a virtual projected tree in all locations that grew and became live over the course of 12 hours.

Participants interacted using their cell phones to twitt OR SMS (Text) and see their messages to be a part of the tree’s growth. Live camera streams in all locations enabled audience members to see each other and engage with a viewer from a different location.
